What are the chances a new business partnership will be formed by a builder and a former custom home client?
Not very likely, but that is exactly what happened between Barry Laidlaw and Brigitte Lepage. Barry built Brigitte’s family home in __________________ in 20__. The timeline for the build was __ months, and the two future partners got to experience what it was like to work together. The rest is history.
Barry is a graduate architect who strayed into home building starting with his parents’ home.
His ability to see blueprints from a builder and an architectural perspective is very unique in the home construction business.
Barry is passionate about building. He brings energy and enthusiasm to every project. His goal is to bring the vision of the home to life. Barry wants to make sure that your new home is built exactly as you and your architect or designer had envisioned it. If there is a way to do it, Barry will figure it out.
Barry has over 25 years of home building experience in Calgary and throughout Western Canada. His portfolio of work is extensive and impressive. Barry loves the work that he does, but working alongside clients is what keeps him in the business. He has built homes, but the relationships he has made in the industry and with clients is what gives his work meaning.
Brigitte has a Bachelor’s degree in business with a major in accounting and finance, and a diploma in computer systems and IT. She was a Managing Director for an IT management consulting firm prior to partnering with Barry and forming Capstone Custom Homes.
Over the years, Brigitte gained experience renovating and building family homes. This experience gave Brigitte the opportunity to indulge her love of interior design and architecture. She found herself drawn to texture, colour palettes and interior and exterior finishes. Brigitte began formal Interior Design studies at York University, and spends her spare time pouring over design books. She has garnered success as a designer in her own right in the Calgary Region, but her focus is always on creating “…a home that our clients love.”
Brigitte understands how important it is to get the finishing details right. She oversees all of the interior and exterior design details with architects, designers and clients. Brigitte has a great eye for design, and oversees quality control for interior and exterior finishes. No detail is ever too small for Brigitte.
Brigitte manages and monitors the client’s budget with the same level of detail. She makes sure all decisions that impact your budget are known, and understood before initiating any changes.
Brigitte enjoys the creative side of the home building industry. She knows how valuable a peaceful home space is. How valuable it is for you to feel “at home” in your new space, where you can invite gathering and create memories. Brigitte feels immense pride and satisfaction hearing clients say they love their Capstone Custom Home.
Brigitte and Barry formed Capstone Custom Homes after they reflected on the successful home building experience that went along with building Brigitte’s dream home.
They had the right complement of skills to form a successful business partnership, but what made the partnership viable was their shared vision for their future clients.
After brain storming and collaborating, they were convinced it was possible to give their clients the beautiful home they imagined, while at the same time, giving them an exceptional home building experience. The two concepts were not mutually exclusive.
