Once your design is finalized and selection have been made, Capstone Custom Homes will present you a quote that is detailed and comprehensive. Our estimating team puts in countless hours itemizing all the costs that go into producing your individual, unique, luxury, Custom New Home, or Large-Scale Renovation. We want you to know, up front, what your construction project will cost to build as specified. We use our extensive experience, to our advantage when providing a written quote for our work. There is a very good likelihood that we have experienced or been involved in the kind of technical build that Custom Architectural plans not only require but demand.
We have had experience building in areas like Canmore that require accommodation for building the structure on a rock bed. If we know there are additional costs associated with a particular situation, due to site constraints, or design requirements, we will put that cost into the initial quote so that there are no surprises along the way. Having a complete and accurate budget is necessary for clients for budget purposes, but for the owners of Capstone, a detailed estimate is essential. We will not ‘ballpark’ our work. At Capstone, we take the time to quote the entire project down to the very last detail possible and will not quote a low price to win a job. We know that costs that are not included, or not foreseen when a quote is prepared eventually get passed along to the client. At Capstone, this practice is not acceptable.
Selecting a General Contractor based on price is a mistake. Contingencies are built into the estimates for things that are truly unforeseen, not overlooked, or unknow to the General Contractor, or for changes that are made knowingly as the construction process moves forward. You as an owner, might make changes once you walk in the space, or see things that you might want to change. We hope that there will not be many of these changes done over the course of the build but know that there might be some. If changes are made, the implications for cost, and schedule will be discussed and accepted by all parties before the changes are approved.
An experienced builder and estimation team will ensure that the budget that is set from the initial and approved quotation will be carefully followed.
